XII. Andean Tectonics Symposium

Coordinadores:

Dr. Andrés Folguera (IDEAN, UBA-CONICET), Dr. Víctor Ramos (IDEAN, UBA-CONICET), Dr. Mario Giménez (IGSV, UNSJ-CONICET), Dr. Orlando Álvarez (IGSV, UNSJ-CONICET), Dr. Leonardo Benedini (INGEOSUR, CONICET-UNS), Dr. Sebastián Rocher (INGeReN-CENIIT-UNLaR, CONICET), Dr. Fernando Martínez (UNAB, Chile), Dra. Silvina Nacif (IGSV, UNSJ-CONICET)

This Symposium will bring together the latest advances in Andean Tectonics, highlighting models that integrate magmatic, structural, and geomorphological evolution with basin development, with a particular focus on the Argentine–Chilean Andes and the adjacent extra-Andean region from the Triassic to the Quaternary. Special emphasis will be placed on the complex pre-Andean stages that occurred during the Triassic and Jurassic, the proto-Andean phases of the Cretaceous and Eocene, the neutral or extensional phases that took place during the Late Cretaceous and Late Oligocene, and the Neogene and Quaternary phases. Contributions will examine orogenic segmentation along the Andes, emphasizing the similarities and differences among the various segments.
