The organization of a symposium on strategic and critical elements in Argentina is justified by the growing importance of these metals and minerals for modern industry and technology, within a global context in which their supply may be limited and vulnerable.
In this scenario, geological and metallogenetic knowledge constitutes a fundamental pillar for national sovereignty, as it enables the identification, evaluation, and strategic management of the country’s mineral resources. This is particularly timely in the current context of the implementation of the RIGI and new regulations aimed at encouraging mining investment, which create concrete opportunities to strengthen the development of the sector.
To collectively validate scientific knowledge, the symposium is conceived as an integrative space that brings together not only the academic and scientific community, but also professionals from the productive sector and mining companies involved in projects at all stages of development. In this way, it seeks to promote a strategic and sustainable vision of mineral systems hosting critical metals in Argentina.
