Geology is felt, too
The XXIII Argentine Geological Congress and the Argentine Society of Writers of San Juan invite geologists, geology students, and professionals connected to the geosciences to participate in “Geology and Literature”, a collective anthology that seeks to explore geological work through emotions, experiences, and personal stories. The initiative is endorsed by the Argentine Geological Association.
Submissions may be inspired by fieldwork, laboratory work, university life, office work, discoveries, anecdotes, curiosities, and all the experiences that form part of the lives of those who study or work in this field.
Who can participate?
The call is open to:
- Geologists.
- Students enrolled in Geology degree programs.
- Professionals and technicians from related disciplines with experience in Earth and natural sciences.
Poetry, short stories, and chronicles will be accepted. Submissions in other literary genres may be discussed in advance by email.
Submission guidelines
Each participant may submit up to three texts. Each work must be no longer than three pages and submitted in .doc or .docx format, using Times New Roman or Arial, font size 11 or 12, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm margins.
For short poems, up to three poems may be included in a single file, provided that the established page limit is not exceeded.

Important dates
Submission deadline: December 30, 2026
Notification of selected works: February 15, 2027
Final revision deadline: February 27, 2027
Publication of the anthology: March 15–19, 2027
Presentation during the Congress: April 19–23, 2027
