In recent years, the planet’s climate has proven relentless, with a significant increase in extreme events such as floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes. But what is the connection between this, and a session dedicated to past environments? The answer is simple: understanding the evidence preserved in rocks and fossils is essential for comprehending current climate change and seeking ways to mitigate its adverse effects. We invite you to contribute to and participate in the Paleoenvironment, Paleoclimate, and Biogeochemistry Session of the XXIII Congreso Geológico Argentino. During the event, some of the most recent ongoing studies combining geochemistry and past environments will be presented.
